June Ann Schmidt, 69, of Cedar Rapids passed away on March 22, 2024, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids.June was born on August 20, 1954, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Frances (Bangham) Peters of Vinton, IA.She received her Musical Education Degree from Luther College and Master of Arts Degree in Education from Ashford University. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20th, at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Brandon Levering officiating. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, before the service.
Rustin “Rusty” E. Geiger
Rustin “Rusty” E. Geiger, 47, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, Vinton, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, at First Chrisitan Church, Vinton, with Pastor Richard Jumper officiating. Tommy James Thomas was tragically taken away on April 2nd, 2024 due to injuries received from a motor vehicle accident. Tommy was born to Robert and Donna Thomas on August 31st, 1971 in Monticello, Iowa.Tommy received his HVAC degree at Kirkwood Community College. Tommy worked a variety of jobs. Tommy started at Cornell College in January 2019 as a maintenance technician.

Darlene W. Monroe, 92, of Traer and formerly of Dysart, passed away on April 6, 2024. The funeral will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. The burial will follow in Dysart Cemetery. The visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Darlene was born on the family farm near Clutier, on May 22, 1931, to Edward and Mabel (Lorenzen) Norden. Susan C. Walker

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, with Chaplain Brian Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.Susan was born November 13, 1967, the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Anderson) Walker.

Linda Kay (Van Nevel) Roggentien, 73, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Unity Point Saint Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids.Linda was born in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Andrew and Marcella (Wentland) Van Nevel. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School the class of 1969. Following school, she worked various jobs until becoming a house wife and caring for her children.

Mary Ann Van Hamme, 91, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Belle Plaine Care Center, Belle Plaine.Mary was born March 7, 1933, in rural Chelsea, Iowa to Bernard and Anna (Iezek) Bennett. She attended rural country school. April 26, 1951 Mary married Maurice Van Hamme at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chelsea. Together they moved to Anchorage, AK while Maurice served in the United States Army. Roger A. Bahr
Roger A. Bahr, 85, of Walker, IA, died at home Tuesday, April 2, 2024.Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, IA. Burial will follow at Freemont Cemetery in Tripoli, IA.Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, at White Funeral Home, Independence, and will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
