Viking cross country ninth at the Raider Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG - The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking cross country team ran its first race since Oct. 21, 2020 at Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 3A Cross Country Boys State Qualifying Meet at Wartburg College (Waverly-Shell Rock) in Waverly.The Vikings' top finisher was junior Elijah Blix in a time of 19:03.0 for 24th place in the overall standings, junior Merritt Bodeker ran a 19:44.8 for 34th place in the overall standings, sophomore Eli Page ran a 20:11.6 for 46th place in the overall standings, sophomore Aldin Swanson ran a 20:44.8 for 60th place in the overall standings, freshman Zach Klopping ran a 21:34 for 71st place in the overall standings, junior Ian Allsup ran a 21:47.6 for 73rd place in the overall standings, and senior Dawson Sturtz ran a 24:07 for 89th place in the overall standings.
