Athletes from around the state to compete in over 50 sports

Registration is now open for the majority of sports in the 2021 Summer Iowa Games presented by Grinnell Mutual. After an abbreviated 2020 Iowa Games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iowa Games team is excited to be able to offer opportunities to compete in over 50 sports this summer.

Sports and competitions will take place in the Ames community and Iowa State University. As Iowa's premier multi-sports festival, the event will attract thousands of participants from across the state. From Archery to Zumba, the Summer Iowa Games includes events for participants of all ages and abilities.

"We're looking forward to welcoming athletes from across the state of Iowa to the 2021 Summer Games!" commented Chuck Long, CEO and Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation. "As always, our priority is the health and safety of our participants, and we will be implementing COVID-19 mitigation protocols at activity sites, in order to provide a safe environment for all."

Events will span from May-August this year, with most competitions being held from July 10 - August 1. The main weekend of the Games is scheduled for July 29-August 1, with 27 sports and competitions. The Opening Ceremony will be held in a virtual capacity this year on Friday, July 30.

Registration deadlines will span the next few months. For more information and registration for the 2021 Summer Iowa Games presented by Grinnell Mutual, visit www.iowagames.org.
