Opinion Letter to the Editor: Choose Wisely

Dear Editor,

I have written before that politicians who claim to be progressive in today's light are really touting a Marxist/Communist theory that confirms equal outcomes instead of equal opportunity. With the former, pay would be the same while work effort would be unrewarded. There would be no property rights and no innovation.

We are all different and expect to be rewarded for our work and effort. And above all, to have freedom of thought. Be careful. There is no utopia in political policy.

Choose wisely.

What has Bernie, AOC, The Squad, New York mayor and Socialist Democats have in common? They are all Democrats and all Communists.
This once centrist party has gone left-left regardless of your errors in judgement.

John, you need to wake up and smell the roses. I do agree we need to choose wisely. That suggestion failed badly in 2024. No one is suggesting everyone is paid equally and we lose the incentive to get ahead. However, the failed trickle down theory has never worked and just added to the deficit. We need to tax billionaires and huge corporations equally. We given them huge tax breaks and then they lay off parts of their workforce and stash their money in accounts overseas. We already have socialism. I shouldn't have to name all the services that we pay for and I am happy to do so. We need to fix a broken health care system and take a hard look at our military budget, audit the fraud in military spending, and lift up the lower class. Our economy is a consumer-driven economy. When the 99% have financial security they contribute to the economy. When they don't we enter a recession with plenty of layoffs.

John, you voted for Trump and back his agenda. You've been very silent for the last year and here you go again accusing Democrats of being communists. Maybe you should refresh your brain what communism is and while your at it refresh your brain what an oligarchy is. When will you wake up and see what Trump is doing to our country and see reality?
