Dear Editor,
In December 2025, FIFA gave to Trump their first-ever FIFA Peace Prize. At the time, some were appalled and asked “What next?”
Well, recently Trump made a call to the FIFA president and asked him to reconsider the red card and one-game suspension awarded to a US player in the World Cup. FIFA then “delayed” the suspension for a year, freeing the US player for next World Cup match play.
We will soon see this as an example in dictionaries under quid pro quo!

Trump gave to FIFA the opportunity to receive worldwide publicity six months prior to beginning the World Cup’s main events.
Even though FIFA’s award was so absurd that most third graders would think “Ummm…. Naaaa”, I am reminded of PT Barnum’s thought: “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.”
They gave Trump an award and granted a review? I missed the part where Trump gave them anything.
Maybe they just liked the guy and thought he had a point?
