Following torrential rain that fell early this week in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, the Cedar River basin will raise our river level. Benton County Emergency Management Coordinator, Dean Vrba said that as of right now “the river is forecasted to crest right below action stage at 13.8 on Monday. This will affect areas of 22nd Ave. northwest of Vinton at 12.5’.”

Vrba believes that unless there is an unexpected storm, Benton County should remain a little soggy, but overall there shouldn’t be any major concerns.
