'Go Gentle' by Maria Semple (3.55 rating on Goodreads) was a quick weekend read that packed in a surprising amount: black-market art deals, a midlife reinvention after divorce, and a survivor of sexual abuse who remakes herself as a live-in philosopher for a wealthy old-money family. And somehow, it’s also a romantic mystery!

Semple creates an endearing heroine in Adora Hazzard (yes, she truly adores chaos), who is navigating life after divorce by embracing Stoic philosophy to manage her temperament and raise her teenage daughter.

I found it to be a charming, thoughtful weekend read, and I especially enjoyed the connections to poetry and philosophy. Check it out at the library & happy reading, friends!
