It took nearly two years from the day that the Benton County Law Enforcement Center was destroyed by the flood on June, 2008, until the new LEC began to take shape this week.

Workers began pouring the foundation, starting on the west side of the new building, which will house the jail. The process of pouring the cement will continue for several more weeks.

Meanwhile across the street in the courthouse, the Benton County supervisors accepted bids for lighting, fencing and parking bumpers for a small parking area on the east side of Second Avenue. That area will be used for parking for the officers.
