News Vinton Public Library Releases its Annual Report

If you have noticed all of the buzzing around town, you've probably noticed that one of the hot spots in Vinton is the library.

The library released some of the stats from the last year of operation. The 2026 Annual Report shares that through physical checkouts, there was a $596, 829 community savings.

When it comes to circulation and patron engagement, there is an average of 95 visitors a day with 696 library programs throughout the year. Now Vinton has a population of 5,015 BUT over the year there were 5,966 attendees at the library to these programs.

The library houses 25,373 physical materials, 24/7 WIFI, offers community meeting spaces, public computers, notary services, scan/fax/copy servcies, and exam proctoring.

Physical circulation reached 35,946 and 11,295 digital circulations.

The library partnered with more than 20 community partners, held 138 outreach events, with another 2,373 outreach attendees.

The Bikemobile made 23 visits to area parks.

To do all of this, the library was open for 2,491 hours operating with staff endorsed by the State Library of Iowa. Speaking of staff, there are 3 full-time, 4 part-time and 1 seasonal staff members.
