Dandeena Schadle, a Vinton native, and currently a Union High School art teacher will be opening the Pourville Art Studio and Gallery, named in honor of Monet's Pourville beach paintings. Her dream she said is finally coming to fruition. Some might remember her as the artist for the Vinton Vikette design which she created while in high school here.

Schadle is opening the studio and gallery next door to Lotus/USBank in downtown Vinton.

Schadle plans to offer painting classes in the studio, kids classes, over 55 classes in the afternoon, mommy (grandma/daddy...) and me painting classes. Some of the pictures painted in these classes are made up of two individual pictures when joined together, they make one. (eg. half a tree created by the two artists joined in the middle) There isn't anything that Schadle can't create on. She uses, wine glasses, barn boards, metal, tin, screens and windows.

Some of the artists bringing their work include seven other artists at the time of this story, including Schadle. Other artists from the area will include Brian Parr, June Stein Unique Metal Artwork, Gordon Kellenberger from the Amanas rural scenes with a Grant Wood feel, and Robin Werner baskets, Barb Campbell, twilling, painting and more.

Schadle has many ideas for the space and what she'd like to see happen here.

There are plans to bring in workshops on Saturdays. On the second Tuesday of each month, the Vinton Art Guild will hold their meetings in the building. Schadle would also like to make the building available for rent to groups that might need to rent a space to meet.

Stop in to check out the various offerings, say hello to Dandeena, check out the creative artwork and the offerings available.
