The success that Vinton-Shellsburg Band members enjoy during the school year starts well before September. 

Virtually all band members, including incoming freshmen, began their band season at Band Camp, where they learn the steps for the marching routine they will perform during football games and band contests. 

This year's theme features music from the movie "Titanic." 

In addition to Band Director Karl Smith, other leaders of Band Camp include recent VSHS graduates who performed in the band last year.
