On September 23rd, 2019, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA chapter had one of their biggest meetings of the year. We had a potluck at the Riverside Pavilion. Many members gathered for the wonderful food options, were able to have fun, and accomplish a full meeting agenda. The meeting started at 6:30 pm. Some highlights of the agenda items were some new events for the local chapter, like and Terror on the Trail and the Ultimate Cowgirl Competition. Scott Bahmann was a guest speaker who presented information about Terror on the Trail. He needed people to work concessions and had asked the FFA chapter if we would be willing to help. We all agreed. He discussed how this could potentially turn into a fundraising opportunity for the chapter. Other highlights of the agenda were National Convention plans for the end of October and the annual T-Shirt design selection. The members created designs and selected color options that were voted on that evening. The theme of the shirt is celebrating the chapter’s 90th anniversary with the saying, “90 Years of Dreaming, Believing, and Achieving;  Blame It All On My Roots.” The design was created by freshmen, Adrianna Rilling. The meeting ended at 7:38 pm so we could participate in the other Homecoming week activities scheduled for that night.
