Christmas Time

By Jordan P. · December 3rd, 2013
My favorite time of the year is Christmas time because the whole family comes together to celebrate with great food. Each part of the family brings some kind of goodie or treat for the whole family to share. Stockings are hung by the fire with each name on them. The Christmas tree is filled with presents for all.

Christmas Time

By Jayden · December 3rd, 2013
My favorite thing about Christmas is waking up early and going through my stocking then when my Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle, and Aunt get to my house we can open up our presents. That's my favorite part about Christmas is getting Christmas presents. Another thing I like about Christmas is being able to see my uncle and aunt because I never get to see them.

I am thankful for the school in my town because all of the teachers are really nice. Each year we go to my Grandparent's and eat thanksgiving dinner and me and my cousin's run around the house until it is time to eat. After dine we all sit down and watch tv. This year my family is going to my parent's friend's house.

Thoughts about the school Veteran's Day Assembly

By Vinton Today · November 18th, 2013
Our Junio Journalists shared their thoughts on the Veteran assembly held at the school last week. By Kennedy I thought it was long. An hour of being squished and crammed in the bleachers. Also they make you stand a lot and talk. I learned that the sheep is every day people the sheepdogs are the Veterans and the wolves are the others fighting against the US.

What thought about yesterday's Veterans Day assembly

By Vinton Today · November 12th, 2013
By Mackenzie At the assembly I learned that the sheepdog is someone that wants to protect the country and has a wanting for war. A sheep wants to protect the country and does not want to have a war. A dog has a craving for war and does not care about the country and just wants to fight. I also learned that the soldiers have to serve for six years or you have your military right taken away forever.

Veterans Day

By Kaylee · November 12th, 2013
You should respect them no matter what because, they served for your freedom and the U.S's freedom. I heard many different stories from veterans; each was very exciting and interesting. I am so grateful that there are so many people fighting for my country. That is what I learned about Veterans Day.

What I learned during the Veterans Day assembly

By Lillie · November 12th, 2013
This is what I learned about Veterans Day. Veterans can be young and old. However you respect them no matter the age. They did services to protect us and our country. So we should always show respect. Especially family members of those who passed while serving. That is what I learned about Veterans Day.

What I learned from the Veterans Day assembly

By Vinton Today · November 12th, 2013
By Haley I learned that there is always a empty chair at one of the veterans meeting. We got to see a veteran put a p.o.w ./m.i.a flag on the empty chair.
