The sound of progress echoed through the northwest corner of Vinton this week as work officially began on a project that promises to add a larger gathering place for the community. Beast & Bird announced that demolition has begun on the former motel property adjacent to the restaurant, marking the first step in the business's latest expansion.

The property was purchased more than a year ago with hopes of revitalizing the area. In its place, Beast & Bird plans to build a new event venue capable of hosting approximately 125 to 150 guests. The business said the space is being designed to accommodate larger gatherings.

One feature the owners are especially excited about is the property's scenic backyard, which connects to the restaurant's Bull Pen. Surrounded by mature maple trees and anchored by a towering willow tree, the outdoor space offers a picturesque setting that the business hopes to transform into something truly memorable for visitors and local families alike.

The former motel has long been a familiar landmark in Vinton and there may be several memories residents associate with the property. At the same time, wit the new venue, together with the restaurant, Vinton will have a new community landmark where people gather to celebrate life's special moments for generations to come.

The announcement also reflected on how far Beast & Bird has come. What began as a small food and beer trailer has grown into a thriving brick-and-mortar restaurant, thanks in large part to the support of the community. The business expressed its appreciation to customers who have supported the journey from the beginning and said it is excited to continue investing in Vinton's future.

As demolition continues and construction plans take shape, one thing is certain: another exciting chapter is being written for one of Vinton's homegrown businesses, and the community will be watching with anticipation as the vision comes to life.

Isn't it awesome to see the businesses flourish in Vinton? Well done!

Congratulations Beast & Bird!
